CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Ag Retail division for an EHS Specialist. In this role, youll provide technical support and guidance on all matters related to safety. Youll be responsible for implementing and managing existing safety programs to ensure compliance and foster a culture of safety across our operations./ppKey Responsibilities:/pulliDeliver technical assistance on safety-related issues/liliImplement and maintain established safety programs/liliPartner with teams to promote best practices and compliance/li/ulpIdeal Candidate Profile:/pulliStrong relationship-building skills/liliDetail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication/liliAbility to influence and drive safety initiatives/li/ulpResponsibilities:/pulliWith assistance, coordinate compliance with all applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) governing bodies (federal, state, local, and company)./liliConduct most basic EHS related audits, workplace inspections, job safety analysis, and maintain detailed recordkeeping./liliFoster strong, collaborative relationships with supported business unit locations to enhance communication, alignment, and overall effectiveness./liliAssist in the development and implementation of EHS related plans, programs, policies, and procedures./liliConduct effective EHS related training for employees, contractors, and visitors./liliConduct accident investigations, manage workers compensation process, and return to work program./liliCommunicate EHS related requirements and expectations to other departments and personnel to ensure regulatory compliance and a safe work environment./liliProperly respond to day-to-day EHS related issues in a timely and efficient manner./liliKeep current on all applicable EHS related rules and regulations./liliPerform other responsibilities as needed or assigned./li/ulpMinimum Qualifications (required):/pulliHigh School diploma or GED/liliKnowledge of Environmental, Health, and/or Safety/li/ulpAdditional Qualifications:/pulliValid Drivers License/liliBachelors degree preferred in Occupational Health, Environmental Health and Safety, or related field/liliPre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements and FMSCA Clearinghouse/li/ulpPhysical Requirements:/pulliAbility to climb ladders and operate equipment needed to inspect facilities/liliAbility to work in dusty and adverse and changeable weather conditions/li/ulpCHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
