As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will lead the 1supst/sup shift HVAC technician team and be the extreme owner of all infrastructure work. The Facilities Mechanical Supervisor is an important role and directly impacts the foundation of the Hawthorne site. This position will help to ensure that we keep facility maintenance costs low, vendors competitive and efficient, and find better ways to enhance our image to customers, visitors, and VIPs. Our facility care is a direct reflection of our values and the impact is immense./ppstrongResponsibilities:/strong/pulliLead a team responsible for performing inspections, testing, maintenance and repair of campus wide systems; including mechanical/HVAC, compressed air, dust collectors, plumbing tasks (backflow preventers/etc) as well as other preventative maintenance and repair programs covered by facilities operations/liliLead and direct a team of plumbing, compressed air, and HVAC focused facility technicians/liliSchedule daily work and prioritize assignments/liliDevelop, plan and execute site improvement projects in accordance with overall business objectives and strategy/liliKnow and understand all safety procedures of SpaceX in order to observe the work of contractors and bring safety concerns to their attention as needed. Report all unsafe acts and conditions which remain uncorrected to supervisor. Allow no work to be performed when conditions are considered unsafe/liliMaintain appropriate records for all trades as required/liliKnow and understand mechanical equipment such as: chilled water systems, boilers, VFDs, pumps, PLCs, condensers, split systems, air compressors, dust collectors and other mechanical equipment/liliCommunicate with Manager on daily activities, projects, team moral and concerning issues/liliManage vendor/contractor finances. Work with SpaceX buyers and AP to assure accounts are maintained/liliOversee team of techs, driving overall performance and effectiveness through individual coaching and development/li/ulpstrongBasic Qualifications:/strong/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate/lili3+ years of experience with facilities management/li/ulpstrongPreferred Skills and Experience:/strong/pulliBachelors degree in construction, engineering or equivalent/liliKnowledge of building management and automated facilities monitoring systems and processes such as: HVAC systems, fluid plumbing systems, generators, compressed air systems or fuel storage systems/liliProficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint/liliExperience managing budgets and third-party vendors/liliExperience negotiating contracts and comparing service costs to achieve maximum value/liliExperience with asset management software/liliHigh attention to detail and cleanliness standards/liliAbility to work independently with little direction/liliAbility to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment/liliAbility to anticipate needs and develop innovative solutions for continuous improvement/li/ulpstrongAdditional Requirements:/strong/pulliThis is unot/u a remote or hybrid position and will require relocation if not already local to the Hawthorne, CA area/liliAbility to provide 24/7 on-call support of critical activities and emergency situations/liliWilling to perform work in extreme outdoor environments
