Albertsons Retail Store Operations
Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service. Assist customers by making product suggestions. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via phone, intercom announcements, and one-on-one interactions. Answer and respond to incoming calls; resolve customer complaints and report to Store Director as needed. Plan daily operations and monitor production processes for compliance and profitability. Trim, cut, wrap, tray, display, and water produce; build displays, rotate stock, and discard outdated or spoiled products. Ensure cleanliness of work area and department. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays. Maintain and operate Salad Bar and Fresh-Made areas (where applicable). Follow and maintain department standards for product freshness and quality. Monitor employee productivity and evaluate overall performance. Schedule employees to ensure adequate coverage and service levels. Supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees. Train employees in store policies, sales, and record-keeping procedures. Identify and train employees with high potential for advancement. Initiate personnel actions such as interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions. Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department. Enforce department standards for freshness and preparation techniques. Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 4 weeks. Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness. Maintain inventory levels according to division directives; stock and rotate products. Organize and maintain produce cooler. Control shrink and costs. Implement correct product preparation techniques. Operate related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machine. Perform receiving duties: break down loads, verify orders using invoices, inspect quality, report shortages, stock and rotate product. Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay*, PTO/Vacation pay*, paid holidays*, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis. Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.
