The connection we have to the source of our fresh foods is core to the way we do business, becoming the first major supermarket in the United States to document that all its seafood products were sustainably harvested./ph3Primary Purpose/h3pManagement trainee program is designed to equip future managers with the skills and knowledge necessary to be effective in this position. Department will be assigned based on store needs./ph3Duties And Responsibilities/h3ulliObserve and follow all company policies and established standard practices./liliIn the absence of the department manager, manage the department operations in accordance with established department standard practices./liliMaintain a neat, well groomed personal appearance at all times and comply with companys personal appearance policy./liliActively recognize associates who deliver great service and coach associates to expectations when necessary./liliUnderstand and use company tools such as; financial reports, scheduling, productivity, ordering, and business information systems./liliMaintain solid communication in the department, with the store manager, and throughout the organization./liliMaintain merchandising techniques and layouts consistent with company standards./liliMaintain department compliance with pricing and coding policy./liliWork within our companys management planning (MPP) guidelines to maintain productivity./liliSupport company safety standards. Communicate any needed equipment repairs or maintenance work needed. Keep work area free from debris and safety hazards./liliDevelop product knowledge in all areas of assigned department, including product preparation./liliHave total understanding of departments Standard Practice manual./liliEnsure the proper training of all assigned department associates./liliEnsure and maintain company sanitation and food safety standards./liliMaintain the quality of departments appearance and presentation./liliTreat all associates with fairness, dignity, and respect. Provide recognition of accomplishments and offer feedback when necessary./liliPerform all special projects and duties as assigned./li/ulh3Qualifications/h3pAbility to lead and direct others. Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job. Good interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team environment. Must meet minimum age requirements to comply with company policy. Effective communication and customer service skills./ph3Physical Requirements/h3pLift cases or packages of products weighing 1-40 lb. frequently and 100 lb. on occasion. Meet established volume activity standards. Stand or walk 100% of the time. Perform repetitive grasping, twisting, reaching and hand/arm motions. Be able to handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning and packaging materials. Use hands continuously to feel objects, and use tools and equipment to cut and prepare products. Frequent bending./ph3Preferred Requirements/h3pRole model outstanding, friendly customer service and use skills and knowledge to offer solutions that meet or exceed customers expectations. Direct work flow of assigned department associates. Ensure product produced meets company standards. Oversee the assigned areas including rotation of all products. Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records. Order and maintain inventory control in order to maximize sales and limit shrink issues. Use good judgment in the delegation, assignment, and follow up required for efficient performance of the department. Maintain effectiveness of departments staffing, scheduling, and financial results. Wash, rinse, and sanitize equipment as outlined by company practices.
