Job Opportunity At MRC Global

MRC Global serves the oil and gas industry across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors as well as the chemical and gas distribution market sectors worldwide. Provides direct contact for external and internal customers in the sale of instrumentation and controls, or specialty products, and works in conjunction with the Supply Management groups to ensure customer specifications for equipment are met. This position also assists in operational and administrative duties. Responsibilities include: Providing technical assistance and support for customers regarding technical specifications of products, and troubleshooting applications as needed. Sizing pneumatic and electric actuators for use on valves. Understanding the customers' business and determining customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions. Entering and maintaining purchase orders, customer orders, procurement matches, and trade discounts as needed. Maintaining various records and files, including rebate files, stock transactions, price catalogs, customer lists, product catalogs, and discounts. Maintaining knowledge of current product pricing. Obtaining price quotes from vendors and Supply Management Groups for resale to customers and providing price quotes for customers. Establishing rapport and providing prompt responses to internal and external customers, vendors, and branch inquiries about material and the sales function. Maintaining and approving quality standards. Setting up the correct description of all inventory items. Adding new inventory to the system as needed. Learning new procedures and product information as required. Available to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as requested (including on-call). Taking reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others. Reporting workplace hazards, injuries, or illnesses immediately. Performing other duties or projects assigned. Qualifications include: An undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. Strong knowledge of PVF products, reasoning, analytical, math, and reading skills. Any combination of two or more years in customer service, inside sales, and/or warehouse services in a position with increasing responsibility, to include demonstrated sales experience. Demonstrated competence in the use of computers and software applications. Demonstrated ability to communicate and promote ideas and transfer detailed knowledge to others. Willingness and ability to travel within and outside the region regularly. Valid Driver's License with the ability to meet the MRC Global vehicle policy. Additional qualifications include: Ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status. Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently in order to communicate with others, understand and interpret safety instructions, and respond to inquiries. Ability to understand and comply with MRC guidelines and expectations, including Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
