Join to apply for the Volunteer: Grant Proposal Review role at Here to Serve, Inc.
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.
Our nonprofit is searching for a grant writer or talented copywriter to assist our team in reviewing a grant proposal and making updates related to specific grant applications (no more than 5 applications). To implement this grant writing project, we'll need two meetings with a volunteer. In our first meeting, we will provide you with a copy and review the application draft already written with you. We'll align on expectations and agree on the project timeline. Next, you'll review our document using the track changes function checking for inconsistencies and continuity errors, and create a list of recommended changes to share with us as they relate to the grant applications we are applying for.
The project will conclude after up to two rounds of edits on each of five grant applications, which the volunteer will make the agreed‑upon changes to the document.
Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will help us raise much‑needed funds to advance our mission, which is to provide support to families with children battling cancer in the home, where more than 60% of the cancer journey happens without coordinated support. We are seeking to grow our organization by adding a development director and a program director. These grants will help us do that.
Our founder and CEO will provide you with the document that needs to be reviewed in an easily shareable format (Microsoft Word, Google Docs, etc.). We'll also send you the grant proposal and application guidelines.
Here to Serve Mission: We believe a child or young parent’s cancer diagnosis is a life‑altering journey. For that reason, the care and support of the family are required to avoid parent(s) from losing their physical and mental health, home, job, and/or entering into bankruptcy. Therefore, we provide wraparound services to meet the daily living needs of young families navigating cancer.
