We're seeking a Newsroom AI Specialist to bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI technology and real-world journalistic needs. You'll work directly with newsrooms and content creators to understand their workflows, then help design and implement AI tools that enhance their ability to produce accurate, impactful content.
This role combines deep understanding of journalism practices with technical knowledge of AI capabilities. You'll serve as both a consultant to newsrooms and a product advocate, ensuring our tools meet the real needs of journalists and content creators.
What You'll Do
Partner with newsrooms and media organizations to understand their content verification and fact-checking needs Design and implement AI-powered workflows for journalists and content creators Conduct training sessions and workshops on AI tools for editorial teams Analyze content quality and help develop metrics for measuring journalistic integrity Collaborate with our engineering team to translate editorial needs into technical requirements Research and evaluate emerging AI technologies for potential applications in journalism Create documentation and best practices for AI-assisted journalism Build relationships with key stakeholders in the journalism and media industry What We're Looking For
3+ years of experience in journalism, editorial work, or media production Strong understanding of journalistic ethics, fact-checking processes, and editorial workflows Experience with digital tools and platforms used in modern newsrooms Basic understanding of AI and machine learning concepts Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences Experience with content management systems and editorial tools Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Passion for improving the quality and credibility of digital content Nice to Have
Experience with computational journalism or data journalism Background in fact-checking, verification, or investigative journalism Knowledge of content moderation or trust and safety practices Experience with social media platforms and their impact on information dissemination Understanding of SEO, content optimization, or digital publishing Experience working with diverse communities and understanding different information needs Background in media literacy or information literacy education Why ContextPress?
