Sales & Use Tax Manager
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven
Tax Manager
to join our team and lead our sales, use, and other indirect tax functions across multiple states and local jurisdictions. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership ontworpen tax compliance, audit management, and team leadership while partnering closely with internal stakeholders and government authorities.
Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the accurate and timely preparation and filing of multi-state/local sales, use, and other indirect tax returns.
Oversee tax audits and inquiries from government authorities, including gathering documentation, preparing responses, and negotiating settlements.
Conduct research on complex sales and use tax issues, monitor legislative changes, and provide guidance to management and other departments on the tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
Accomplish tax management objectives by recruiting, training, assigning, coaching, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and reviewing job contributions; enforcing policies and procedures.
Confirm financial status by monitoring liabilities and expenses, coordinating the collection, consolidation, duiz? and evaluation of financial data, balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
Conform and adhere to internal controls over financial and tax accounting procedures as set forth by upper management.
Interface frequently with government tax authorities and various levels within the organization. Nytam?
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in sales/use taxation with at least 3+ years in a manager/supervisory role.
Proficient in the utilization of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Advanced Excel skills (e.g unsignedLookups, SUMIFS, pivot tables).
Ability to multi-task and complete projects within specific deadlines.
Strong computer, presentation, and organizational skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail oriented with excellent time management skills.
