Account Manager Responsibilities
Manage and grow a portfolio of existing and new accounts.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities at these accounts as well as new accounts.
Develop a deep understanding of customer applications and provide consultative solutions using Pepperl+Fuchs products.
Collaborate with internal product management and market teams to support customer solutions and ensure customer satisfaction.
Provide accurate sales forecasts, territory plans, and activity reports.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, products, and competitor activity.
Willingness to travel across the state of Wisconsin on a daily/weekly basis as business dictates.
Background You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience with industrial automation sales.
Desire to grow professionally.
Preferred Background Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

Job Description Purpose Responsible for all sales activities within designated territory, including maintaining existing business, building relationships, seeking growth opportunities and driving new sales.
Essential Job Functions
Accountable for meeting sales targets.
Conduct presentations and sales calls at all priority accounts and targets, focusing on creating and closing opportunities consistent with sales platform requirements.
Maintain daily contact with accounts via various communication channels and onsite visits.
Provide customers with new product information and technology training, actively participate in new product launches, and continually stay up to date on new systems and products.
Appropriately utilize various internal resources within designated territory, such as Field Application Engineers, Product Managers, and Market Managers.
Maintain and build relationships with external and internal personnel in numerous departments.
Assist customer service with pricing, quotes, delivery and technical assistance, with the appropriate sense of urgency.
Collaborate with customers to define product requirements, in line with our business strategy, to close opportunities.
Maintain a sense of ownership for orders, from initiation through installation, including expediting as necessary.
Report daily activities and maintain priority accounts in CRM software.
Actively participate in team meetings and meet/exceed established KPIs.
Prospect for new business using internal and external resources and follow up on leads to grow the territory.
Maintain a safe, secure, and legal work environment.
Maintain detailed records and prepare communications as needed.
Interact professionally on a regular basis with staff and the general public.
Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 3 years of related sales experience.
Managerial Experience: None.
Certificates & Licenses: Valid driver’s license; passport for Canadian residents.

Hours: May require occasional evening and weekend hours as business needs demand.
Travel: Requires regular travel by automobile.
Working Conditions: Work performed in a manufacturing and general office environment.
Equipment: Ability to operate standard business office equipment.
Lift/Stand/Carry: Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs. independently.
PPE: Regularly required to wear safety glasses, ear plugs, safety vest, hard hat, long sleeves & belt protectors when visiting customer plants.
Misc: Ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set‑up and maintain work files.
Participation: Requires participation and attendance at organization sponsored events and meetings.
