Title: Assistant Community Engagement Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Director, Communications and Engagement
Location: Verrado Assembly – Buckeye, Arizona
Summary
The Assistant Community Engagement Manager (ACEM) for Verrado Assembly plays an integral role in advancing the mission of the Verrado Community Life Team by fostering unique opportunities for residents to engage and connect, creating a sense of community and lifestyle that sets Verrado apart from any other place to live. By bringing residents, neighbors, non-profits, employers, and others together, the ACEM fosters a rich expression of community life and builds the framework for a sustainable legacy community.
Working in collaboration with internal and external partners, The ACEM will plan and implement a portfolio of social and recreation activities and programs that occur on a seasonal calendar while involving community stakeholders (residents, partners, etc.) throughout the process. The ACEM is also responsible for the execution of engagement programs and events, including summer youth, teen and family activities. The Assistant Community Manager will oversee the resident volunteer program, guide and develop the Ambassador Team to strengthen resident connections. The Assistant Manager is also responsible for leading long-term relationships that grow the quality of opportunities for residents to be involved in clubs and groups, as well as establish and maintain important relationships with community partners that provide rich programming for residents. In addition, the ACEM may lead and/or contribute to the success of signature events, volunteer and philanthropic programs, and amenity operations, and serve as the on-the-ground resource for communications—identifying information needs, capturing story opportunities, and contributing to the creation of accurate and compelling messaging.

Scope
In collaboration with the Director, Communications and Engagement and other stakeholders, develop and execute a dynamic multi-faceted community engagement strategy that is reflective of the community brand, vision and culture.
Support community initiatives, outreach activities, and partner relationships.
Support the planning and implementation of programs, including summer programming for youth and teen activities, year-round youth, teen and family events, and set up Educational Programming for lifelong learning opportunities for residents through our stakeholders.
Set up and launch event registration systems in support of activities; monitor registration to ensure adequate supplies are in place to support anticipated attendance.
Lead the execution of the event and/or activities (days may begin as early as 5:00 a.m. and end as late as midnight); be onsite to manage and handle all necessary decision-making.
Document service processes and engagement trends
Support delivery of the community brand and engagement strategy
Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day upkeep and smooth operation of office, including managing supplies, maintaining equipment, ensuring assigned vehicles are serviced, and supporting general administrative office needs.
Working with operations team members, develop and implement a robust resident welcome program aimed at making a genuine connection with every new homeowner.
May be responsible for the direct oversight of all Ambassadors
May be responsible for managing, scheduling, training, budgeting of hours of Ambassadors, and events
May be responsible for the financial oversight, of Ambassadors and events, all aimed at fostering meaningful connections with every resident.
May be responsible for leading ambassadors in Ambassador Led Events.
Contribute to the development and execution of community strategic plans & budgets.
Support delivery of engagement programs and events inclusive of welcome, leadership, volunteer, club and group programs and signature events
Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer engagement strategy that leverages resident leaders and influencers to advance and support key events and programs; create committee Charters; recruit committee members; manage committee meetings and related activities.
Coordinate annual communications calendar in support of Inspiration Engagement and Operations imperatives.
Maintain community engagement records in SharePoint.
Manage vendor relationships and ensure that appropriate contracts are executed, accounting requirements fulfilled, insurance requirements are met, and similar details are handled; submit all final invoices upon receipt to Director, Communications and Engagement for timely processing.
Manage technical execution and invoicing for community programs
Support the engagement team with tasks, special projects, and events as needed
Assist team in planning and executing signature events each year; serve as an integral contributor to the overall success of all engagement programming at Verrado.
Support the content curation and production of community collateral, including weekly e-blasts
Help monitor, evaluate, and provide content to the communications team for website content pages as required
Ensure that Verrado and Cohere brand standards are met within all programs.

Minimum of 3 years progressive work in community building and organizing/planning community events.
College degree in recreation, hospitality, or similarly aligned field preferred.
Experience in customer service and working in a professional environment. Effective communication, motivation, cooperation, and conflict resolution.
Written and verbal communication skill required; promotional messaging experience preferred
Proficiency in a wide range of software including Microsoft Office Suite, social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), WordPress and others; familiarity with HTML, Adobe design suite and photo editing software preferred
Able to work a flexible schedule that includes some evenings, weekends and holidays
Provide one’s own transportation for off-site programs, meetings with partners, picking up necessary supplies, etc.;
Must have a current drivers’ license and an acceptable driving record
Capable of lifting or moving up to 30 pounds on a regular basis and being on feet for extended period
Work Environment
The Community Engagement Coordinator should expect to:
Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and some holidays.
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and being on feet for extended periods of time.
Provide one’s own transportation for off-site programs, meetings with partners, picking up necessary supplies, etc.; must have a current drivers’ license and an acceptable driving record.
