Packaging Operator – Mars Petcare
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Shift: 3rd Shift (7:00 pm – 7:30 am), 2.2.3 schedule; 12‑hour shift
Compensation: $26.87 /hour + $1.50 /hour shift premium; annual bonus & merit increases; 2 openings.
Description of the Role Responsible for maximizing packing line efficiency, implementing continuous improvement, and maintaining safety & quality standards.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and email communication
Physical Requirements
Can perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
Frequent lifting/carrying (10–50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50–300 lbs).
Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
Stand and work on feet for extended periods; shifts lasting 12 hours.
Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions.
Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical degree or certification
2+ years’ experience in manufacturing
Experience with packaging equipment
Key Responsibilities
Maintain optimal packaging line efficiency and promptly raise deviations from standards or schedules.
Support peers to achieve the highest safety, quality, and efficiency standards throughout the packing hall.
Take responsibility for achieving required GMP/GHP packaging scores.
Ensure cleaning regimes are consistently upheld and executed to the highest standards.
Actively participate in operational processes that drive business performance and continuous improvements.
Perform additional tasks and ad hoc requests as needed.
Total Rewards
