Position Overview
Senior Fleet Mechanic (57703) at AAA Northeast
What You Will Do
Schedule and perform vehicle preventative maintenance, including oil changes, tune‑ups, and tire rotations.
Diagnose vehicle issues, often by using computerized diagnostic equipment.
Replace worn or broken parts, align wheels, adjust brakes, tighten bearings, tune engines, etc.
Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined.
Perform minor body work.
Perform automobile and light truck repairs by disassembling and overhauling engines, transmissions, clutches, rear ends and other assemblies.
Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs, and requisition new parts and equipment.
Use testing equipment to ensure that repairs and maintenance are effective.
Review completed maintenance and repair work with management and vehicle operators.
Perform emergency road service, as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Schedule Monday‑Friday 7:30 am‑4:00 pm
Compensation The pay range for this position is
$35.00 – $40.00 per hour . Base pay offered may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, shift differentials and experience. Annual bonuses are offered to employees and certain roles may be eligible to earn additional forms of compensation through monthly and/or quarterly incentives. Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Automotive repair and maintenance technician, preferably on light‑duty and medium‑duty trucks
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification preferred
Ability to operate a computer with relevant software applications.
Ability to safely operate electrical and mechanical equipment/tools (multi‑meter, air tank, jumper cables, lock‑out tools, floor jack, air compressor, MDC computer, tire inflator, wheel lock, funnel, gas can, air impact gun, tire mallet, hand tools, lug wren मुक्त, and two‑way radio).
Ability to operate a variety of automotive diagnostic equipment, interpret results and perform repairs upon completion of training.
Ability to repair machines or systems using the needed tools.
Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
Ability to install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications. Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. Determine causes of operating errors and decide on course of action.
