The candidate will be responsible for managing the construction of the new high rise residential buildings in
downtown Newport News, Virginia .
The residential buildings will house unaccompanied sailors and include 2BR living units similar to market rate apartments.
The project is
MASSIVE
in scale and a
GENERATIONAL
project that will be a crown jewel asset to the Navy's Atlantic Fleet. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on a project that will be well known for decades.
The project is a ~ 5yr construction period
consisting of site demolition, sitework, x2 new concrete residential structures (17 story and an 8 story tower), a large precast parking garage, located in downtown Newport News at the old Huntington Hall building site.
The anticipated project start date is April 1, 2026.
Responsibilities
Ensure that the project is constructed in compliance with the design intent, project schedule, and CBG QC and Safety standards
Plan and schedule the work
Effectively lead a team of other superintendents
Qualifications
Construction Document Competency (ability to read and understand design intent from plans and specs, ability to communicate this to subs)
Ability to lead a big construction team
Ability to manage multiple tasks at once
Planner and forward thinker
Computer competency (ability to learn and efficiently use modern construction software)
Commitment to meet deadlines
Team player
High School Diploma
