Receiving Associate III

/strongThis is the experienced level. The employee performs a full range of job functions and uses independent judgement in making decisions where alternatives are determined by established procedures, methods, and practices. Employees at this level should excel in all responsibilities and duties and require no supervision to complete all duties to manager expectations. They should be able to train entry level employees on the various functions and responsibilities of the position./ppReceive all incoming freight and log into receiving log./ppExamine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, sales instructions, or orders to verify accuracy./ppRecord shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes./ppPrepare shipping documents, such as commercial invoicing, certificate of origin, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials./ppPack seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, computer equipment, or postage meter./ppContact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials./ppDeliver or route materials to departments using hand truck, forklift, or sorting bins./ppRequisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock./ppKeeps shipping area clean./ppOrganize incoming freight and put away in designated area./ppResponsibilities/Duties:/ppAquire information from Sales Department and Purchasing Department./ppCommunicate with supervisors, peers, or subordinates./ppCalculate shipping costs./ppCoordinate shipping activities with external parties./ppPick up shipments from vendors for Purchasing

Inventory./ppDeliver shipments to customers with the service vehicles./ppInspect shipments to ensure correct order fulfillment./ppOrder materials, supplies, or equipment./ppPackage objects for shipping./ppPrepare documentation for contracts, transactions, or regulatory compliance./ppRecord shipping information./ppEducation, Work Experience, Skill Requirements

Certifications:/ppMinimum Education (or substitute experience) required:/pulliHigh School Graduate or GED equivalent./li/ulpMinimum Experience required:/pulliMinimum 1 years of relevant manufacturing/shipping experience. 3+ years preferred./liliMinimum 1 year of sit-down forklift experience/liliERP experience a plus./liliExperience in working with cryogenic equipment and/or hoses, valves and piping a plus./liliCarpentry and construction experience a plus./li/ulpSkills Required:/pulliAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced warehouse environment without constant supervision./liliMust have excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented. Ability to handle several projects simultaneously, prioritize work and handle last minute demands appropriately./liliAbility to use power tools, i.e., cordless drills, chop saw, nail gun etc, required for crating shipments

loading flatbeds./liliAbility to read truck layouts and crate layouts provided by design engineers to assist in loading shipments./liliAbility to drive service truck with trailer attached./liliProven success with working in a team environment./liliGood communication, written and grammatical skills. Customer service oriented./liliEntry level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and general data entry./li/ulpMinimum License, Certifications

Affiliations/Memberships and CEUs:/pulliMust be 21+ with a Valid California drivers license and insurance to make deliveries in company vehicles./liliForklift operator experience./li/ulpSpecial Requirement:/pulliMay be required to work weekends and holidays as business necessitates; schedules will be determined by management with at least 48 hours advance notice./li/ulpWork Environment:/ppWorking in the shop, the following conditions may apply:/pulliIncludes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable./liliRequires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32 F degrees) temperatures./li/ul/div
