Performs skilled work on a variety of construction, maintenance and repair projects. Operates specialized equipment in connection with task. Does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.
Responsible for performing preventative maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs to building systems and equipment necessary to maintain the safety and operation of City Facilities
Performs repairs and preventative maintenance to the facilities infrastructure and essential systems such as (but not limited to) plumbing, minor electrical, and minor HV/AC
Responsible for assessing facilities and their infrastructure to discover issues and address them before they worsen
Provide oversight of vendors when work is being done
Performs administrative duties such as (but not limited to) tracking cost, estimating and ordering materials, and updating project progress.
Responsible for completing tasks with little direct oversight
Order/Purchase necessary supplies and materials to complete repairs or perform routine maintenance
Troubleshoots and formulates a plan for necessary materials and tools to complete repairs
Inspect all tools and equipment to ensure proper operating conditions and report any damage to your direct supervisor and necessary parties
Responsible for keeping a safe, clean, and orderly work area, ensuring that any necessary safety signage or safety barriers are in place before the commencement of work.
Assisting on various projects/tasks as needed.
Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on buildings and amenities.
Responsible for managing their assigned workload and completing task according to priority.
Schedule assigned tasks with necessary internal customers.
Act as lead technician and train less senior maintenance workers.
Responsible for cleaning and maintaining City issued vehicle and equipment, following the prescribe vehicle/equipment maintenance plan set by Cities fleet department

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Lead repairs/remodels on facilities
Ensure safety protocols and procedures are being followed
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers
Knowledge of general carpentry and repair
Ability to use hand tools and power tools
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Be familiar with safety protocols and regulations to avoid hazards and injuries
A broad knowledge of technical skills can help maintenance works diagnose and fix problems with machinery
Use critical thinking to approach problems and best identify the strengths and weaknesses of a particular way of doing things and provide relevant solutions as needed
Consider relative costs and benefits related to decisions
Understand the potential outcomes and weighing potential risks before formulating a plan
Education and Experience: Highschool diploma or equivalent;3 to 7 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, abilities and other competencies necessary for the position.
Licenses, Certifications, Special Requirements:
Valid Florida Driver’s License required
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Possess an aptitude and willingness to learn
