Lane Education Service District (ESD) seeks it's next Leader. Anchored by Eugene and extending from the Cascade Mountains to the Oregon Coast, the Lane County region is shaped by rivers and forests, farmland and coastline, creating a distinctive sense of place and quality of life. Lane ESD exists to serve. In partnership with 16 school districts and in service to more than 52,000 students across urban, rural, and coastal communities, Lane ESD provides high-quality special education services, instructional support, and essential operational services. The agency’s work is grounded in a commitment to strengthening districts so that every student — particularly those with the greatest needs — can belong, thrive, and succeed. Lane ESD also partners closely with Pre-K providers, institutions of higher education, and community agencies to align programs, resources, and improvement efforts with the priorities outlined in its Local Service Plan.

The Superintendent leads through collaboration and service, recognizing that leadership in an ESD is fundamentally relational and grounded in trust. The successful candidate will bring experience, credibility, and a collaborative leadership style, with a demonstrated ability to work across organizations and systems to advance innovation, implement initiatives with care, and navigate the complex environment of regional educational service delivery. The Superintendent will be an effective communicator, a thoughtful organizational leader, and a visible state advocate for Lane ESD’s partner districts and the students they serve.
Eugene and the surrounding communities offer an exceptional quality of life, with a strong commitment to education, the arts, sustainability, and inclusive community.
