Job Description: Schnabel Engineering is a growing, mid-sized civil engineering firm with 31 offices nationwide. We are seeking a collaborative and detail-driven Graphic Designer to join our dynamic Creative Services team. This role reports to the Director of Creative Services and plays a key part in our proposal efforts, working closely with the proposal development teams within our Business Development Services group. Responsibilities include proposal layout, production, and RFP compliance, as well as support for digital and print projects such as social media graphics, map creation, and other marketing materials. It’s a great fit for a team‑oriented creative who has strong editorial skills and values brand standards and precision. You’ll serve as a front‑line guardian of quality control and take pride in producing polished, consistent work.
Job Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the Creative Services and Business Development Services teams
Work within a clean, modern aesthetic while adhering to brand standards and client requirements
Produce layout and design work for proposals, presentations, and marketing collateral
Partner with proposal managers and subject matter experts to inform strategy and develop effective design and graphic approaches
Create concepts and designs for tables, infographics, and other visual elements
Process, retouch, and organize project photography
Prepare graphics and materials for both print and digital applications
Create, refine, and edit slide decks
Required Skills/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field
At least four years of relevant experience, ideally in a proposal or marketing environment
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
Strong photo‑retouching and image‑manipulation skills
Exceptional craft, editorial layout abilities, communication skills, and attention to detail
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, visually compelling infographics
Solid understanding of grid systems, typography, and core design principles
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Deep knowledge of digital file preparation and pre‑press production workflows
A proactive, critical thinker who anticipates needs and looks beyond the initial ask
Other Requirements:
Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check
Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screening
The compensation range for this position is between $27/hr to $33/hr. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors. We remain committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation to all employees, regardless of their location.
