Job Title:
Building Surveyor – Repairs & Maintenance Building Surveyor needed in London to start promptly; join a leading property team delivering top-quality maintenance and resident services. Job Description: Conduct detailed internal and external property inspections across London, including routine and complex repairs, damp & mould surveys, and remedial work specifications.
Manage complex maintenance projects, liaising with residents, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality delivery and customer satisfaction.
Produce accurate reports, work orders, and specifications using NHF SORs and other tools, ensuring works are referred appropriately.
Oversee budgets, approve variations, and maintain compliance with standing orders, financial controls, and fraud prevention.
Handle complaints, councillor/MP enquiries, and insurance-related work, including liaising with loss adjusters for fire, flood, or theft claims.
Skills / Qualifications: HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying, or extensive relevant experience with commitment to ongoing CPD.
Experience working with varied housing stock, ideally within social housing or similar environments in London.
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and the ability to apply them practically on site.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve resident complaints effectively.
Proficient in undertaking complex property inspections and producing itemised work specifications, including using NHF tools.3
