Day Wireless Systems
Overview
This position prospects, sells and supports advanced wireless systems for major accounts. Main responsibility includes researching product solutions that match prospect needs. Position is mainly outside sales but may require inside work depending on shop and market needs.
Responsibilities
Prospect for sales opportunities via telephone, personal visits, mailings, personal letters, internet searches, attending trade shows, industrial events, meetings, and via referrals from existing customers.
Research possible solutions from existing and new suppliers and communicate regarding solution needs
Customer meetings via telephone and in person to discuss sales solutions
Prepare proposals and budgets for internal technical and business review
Prepare and present proposals to customers in written and verbal form including preparation on complex materials in a formal presentation manner
Site and facility visits to observe and determine communication needs and possible solutions
Follow-up with pending opportunities; handling post-sell issues; mentoring other sales reps; attending training sessions.
Planning sales calls and identifying the Single Sales Objective.
Develop and implement plans and strategies for quickly developing their Sales territory.
Articulate the value proposition of our products and services to convert prospects to customers.
Proven success in ability to close new business.
Act as information resource for other members of the sales team on system opportunities. Ability to use MSS21 software for order tracking, customer profiles, purchasing status and inventory status. Knowledge of service shop role and its capabilities.
Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from current customers, associations, newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
Works with supervisor and credit manager to quotes prices, credit terms and prepares sales agreements for orders obtained.
Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm’s production and delivery schedules.
Trains personnel of business establishments in use of equipment.
Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
Prepares monthly forecasts, sales plan, sales funnel and sales results as well as annual forecast.
Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
Proven aptitude of radio concepts and our sales process, product knowledge and sales presentations skills on the portfolio of our wireless solutions.
High-level understanding of radio concepts and a moderate understanding of general wireless technology.
Must demonstrate ability to develop a customer’s funding strategy for large projects, whether through internal budgets or external grant funding sources. Clearly identify and understand the details of our customer’s buying process, understanding their budget and funding cycles and approval process.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Some higher education or vocational training specializing in radio and wireless design plus certification (issued by vendors such as Motorola, Harris or Cisco) in various radio and network vendor system capability and 5-8 years previous experience in RF or computer network sales or service.
