An ideal candidate must be a self-starter, quick learner, personable, persuasive, deadline-and detail-oriented. Leadership skills and management experience are preferred. Candidate must have experience working in teams and alone in a fast-paced environment while providing coaching and project support to teammates. Must be able to manage projects and people. They should also possess strong writing and visual communications skills. Must be able to lead, develop, and manage proposals and presentations while also creating and maintaining other sales documents/media, including project description sheets and employee bios.
The ability to contribute industry best practices and key learnings to help expand our sales and department processes is a plus.
What You Will Do:
Plan, write, design, and produce high-impact and creative responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs)
Plan, strategize, and create outlines/content/slide decks for client interviews; provide presentation coaching and feedback to Messer’s subject matter experts
Translate complex strategies and technical subject matter into engaging, audience-friendly messaging that communicates Messer’s values and benefits
Create and maintain sales documents/media, including (but not limited to) project description sheets, employee bios, and project award submissions
Provide coaching and project support to teammates within the department
Provide strategic counsel and support to business development representatives across the company (with a focus on Messer’s Southeast offices) during pursuits
Conduct research to support the sales process
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Electronic Media, Marketing, Communications or related discipline.
7+ years of experience preferred; working in a Marketing/Communications/Sales type role.
Experience responding to Requests for Proposals / Requests for Qualifications.
Knowledge of Adobe InDesign and other Creative Suite applications a plus (Mac environment).
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees.
Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of construction industry a plus.
Some overnight travel required.
Experience with any proposal generating software and sales enablement tools is a plus.
