Job Title

Working independently under the general direction of the Foreman - Meter Services, performs field work tuning on and off water meters and obtaining start and final reads for new and moving customers. Preforms Rechecks to the AMR Routes daily. Essential Job Duties

Drives an assigned county vehicle Performs Rechecks to AMR Routes daily. Performs various work orders such as Disconnect (Non-payment/Customer request), Final Bill Read, Turn On Customer Request, etc. Communicates with Customer Service office staff to disconnect and reconnect water services. Completes various Customer Service work orders and assists other Customer Service positions when needed. Performs all other job-related duties as assigned or as become apparent. Performs all duties safely in accordance with County and department safety rules. Typical Requirements

Education/Experience: High school diploma or G.E.D. Previous experience in a similar role or familiarity with meter reading and utility services is preferred but not required. Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations: Must possess a valid Florida driver's license. Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills: Ability to navigate the geography and street locations within the IRCU AMR meter system. Must be able to use tablets and/or laptops for use with GIS mapping and Email. Ability to use hand tools to clean meter box, turn on and off meters for disconnect and reconnect of services (i.e. disconnects for nonpayment, customer disconnect requests, customer leaks, etc.). Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, pad locks, bolt cutters, and meter keys. Supplemental Information

Requires work outdoors. Employees will be exposed to seasonal temperatures, inclement weather, insects, etc. Ability to sit, bend, stoop, lift, walk, and climb into small areas. Employees lift large meter lids/vault lids, and other equipment necessary to complete the work. Must be able to walk on loose, uneven, and sloped ground.
