Sophia Learning is an industry-leading provider of low-cost, self-paced online general education courses that are transferable for college credit. We are looking for a strategic and data-driven Manager of Marketing, Relationship Marketing to join the Sophia marketing team. The role involves owning the development and execution of the strategic roadmap for prospect conversion marketing campaigns and automated programs. When needed, this role will support other teams across the Sophia Learning unit to create consistent omnichannel messaging to learners. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, Sophia, this role will manage the strategy, planning, testing and analyzing of triggered, automated and ad hoc campaigns to support marketing channels across B2C, B2U (university partners), B2K12 (high school audience), and other audiences as assigned. The role should integrate with our brand work, organic social, and paid channels to improve the prospect experience and drive conversion. The right person for this role is innately curious, analytical, detail-oriented, and enjoys problem solving. They should thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Develop plans with clear strategic objectives and thoughtful measures of success. Supervise the email marketing coordinator and ensure campaigns are built and executed correctly. Leverage data analytics to identify key business performance insights and trends; communicate findings to internal stakeholders and business leaders across the organization. Partner with Learner Facing, Product, Brand Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Reporting, and IT teams to build strategic and tactical roadmaps and deliver business objectives. Participate in cross functional teams to support new and existing 1:1 programs to ensure strategic alignment. Develop and drive ongoing optimization testing across areas of responsibility. Understand and stay ahead of privacy law and regulatory impact to this area of work. Partner with IT implementation team to build roadmap to unlock additional capabilities to leverage across campaigns (primarily in Salesforce Marketing Cloud). Draft creative briefs and work with internal and external creative teams to execute creative to leverage across campaigns.

Job Skills

Strong proficiency with marketing automation and relationship / conversion marketing best practices, particularly in email and SMS channels. Strong experience implementing A/B and multi-variant testing and driving from strategy to execution. Proficiency in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (or other CRM, though Salesforce is strongly preferred) and enterprise email service providers. Experience with customer analytics and taking a data driven approach to campaigns (particularly in email and SMS). Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task many projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, but knows when to ask for clarity and how to escalate concerns appropriately. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to analyze and present data and findings clearly, concisely, and accurately, and be able to draw meaningful conclusions and recommendations for action. Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels. Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.

Work Experience

6+ years of marketing experience. 3+ years of marketing automation platforms, ideally Salesforce or Salesforce Marketing Cloud. 2+ years of leadership experience in the areas listed above. Experience in working on SaaS or edtech products is preferred, but not required. B2C digital marketing experience required.

Education

Bachelor’s degree required.

Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. Travel may involve plane, car or metro. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity.
