REQ-39605NewsNation is looking for an experienced network-level producer to support the daily production of a new daily cable news show. The senior producer will play a key leadership role helping to devise the editorial and booking strategy and coordinate show production for the daily show. Candidates should be passionate about news and storytelling and creating compelling programming. Candidates with strong segment producing and copy-editing experience are ideal. The position is based at the network's offices in Washington, DC.Duties & Responsibilities:Assists executive producer in setting show’s editorial directionHelps build rundowns for regular programming as well as breaking news and special programmingCoordinates the team: line producers, associate producers, writers, editors and other staffCopy edits scripts and contentServes as a senior leader in the control room when neededHelps implement training and best practices for teamProvides ongoing mentoring and support to staffManage editorial relationships and collaboration with other teamsActs as Executive Producer in his/her absenceOther duties as assignedRequirements & Skills:Ten or more years of editorial experience in a fast-paced environment for a national news program (broadcast, cable or digital)Excellent writing and copy-editing skillsSegment producing experience required, line producing experience a plusStrong organizational, and people skills are vitalThe successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills who brings lots of ideas to the tableBachelor’s degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experienceSalary Range: (per experience) $110,000 – $130,000 Annualized.Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
