Overview
The Business Development Specialist identifies and secures new clinical trial opportunities by aligning site capabilities with sponsor and CRO needs, working closely with Principal Investigators and under the supervision of the Business Growth Director, while supporting feasibility assessments, relationship building, and site qualification and start-up activities to grow the company’s study portfolio and visibility. Responsibilities
Business Development and Strategy: Identify and secure new clinical trial opportunities with sponsors and CROs by engaging Principal Investigators, conducting market research, and supporting feasibility and site qualification activities; ensure CDAs are properly executed and collaborate with the Business Growth Director on strategy alignment, proposal development, and ongoing client relationships. Collaboration with Principal Investigators and Site Team: Collaborate closely with Principal Investigators, Sub-Investigators, and Site Directors to assess site capabilities and identify suitable study opportunities, while coordinating feasibility tracking and facilitating the timely exchange of study documentation between sites and sponsors/CROs. Relationship Management and Representation: Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors and CROs by fostering trust and collaboration, representing the company and its sites at regional and international meetings, conferences, and industry events; promote company capabilities through presentations, site tours, and marketing initiatives; travel to key congresses and professional events to strengthen industry relationships and explore new business opportunities. Functional Coordination: Collaborate with Marketing to ensure up-to-date branding materials, and partner with Regulatory, Clinical Operations, Finance, Legal, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure site qualification and readiness for study initiation; support site readiness plans, facilitate cross-functional communication to streamline start-up processes, and contribute to business growth initiatives, including the development of new site locations and research partnerships in the region. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Biology, Marketing, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification in Clinical Research, Business Development or Project Management is preferred. Professional Experience
Experience in customer relationship, direct sales, or business development. Preferred: Experience in Business Development for clinical research, preferably in a CRO, sponsor, multi-site organization, or in any healthcare field. Travel Requirements: Up to 80% travel. Additional Details
