The Technical Writer plays a critical role in supporting patients by developing clear, accurate, and comprehensive medical narratives. This position ensures information is communicated effectively, helping patients understand their journey while maintaining confidence and trust throughout the process.
In this role, the Technical Writer is responsible for producing high-quality documentation that supports successful claim approvals, strengthens patient engagement, and builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. A strong attention to detail, commitment to organizational excellence, and dedication to patient advocacy are essential to success.
This position requires a proactive and results-driven professional who is passionate about delivering precise medical documentation while aligning patient expectations with realistic and compliant outcomes.
Responsibilities
Create medical and legal documentation with accuracy and a focus on fostering positive relationships with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders.
Efficiently manage a high volume of claims on a weekly basis.
Provide continuous support by reviewing patient records and identifying additional health issues to maximize benefits.
Maintain high standards to build and sustain patient trust.
Clearly communicate to ensure that patient expectations are aligned with what is realistically achievable.
Apply technical skills to secure prompt and successful claim approvals.
Foster patient satisfaction and engagement through effective communication and consistent support.
Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Biology, Nursing, Epidemiology, Public Health or related field preferred.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting is required, preferably in coordinating and managing patient documentation, medical writing, medical terminology, or in a healthcare administration role.
Familiarity with healthcare programs and benefits, particularly the Department of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC) program, is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software is required.
