We think you'll find it a rewarding and nurturing place to grow your career.Starting Salary Range: $43.45 - $43.45**Pay rate: $36.94 (CT1)-$38.68 (CT2)-$40.41 (CT3)-$41.70 (CT4) -$43.45 (CT5)****GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:**Responsible for the functional integrity and maintenance of the BWL primary radio systems. Analyzes and performs all necessary repairs on components using computerized diagnostic test equipment and industry best practices.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*** Programs, adjusts, aligns, tests and maintains radios and related electronic equipment using a wide variety of tools, computers, software, and test instruments.* Assists in maintaining radio SCADA and applicable systems.* Provides daily problem resolution for various hardware problems related to the operation of the radio system and wireless services* Takes a lead role in diagnosing problems, troubleshooting electronic communication systems and equipment, and selecting and performing technical repairs at both system and component level.* Maintains parts supply for repair of communication equipment.* Programs new and old radios using Motorola and equivalent service software.* Provides service to all external users of the trunking system.* Updates and maintains database of all communication equipment by generating work orders on jobs and then completing these jobs using approved CMMS.* Responsible for prioritizing and scheduling all communication repairs, installation and customer projects.* Provides customer support assistance with technical questions related to operations of the radio system and related equipment.* Assists in the design, configuration, and implementation of radio system changes, upgrades, and improvements.* Works with outside vendors on applicable systems.* Installs radios into vehicles and repairs as needed.**JOB SPECIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES**High school diploma or equivalent.Knowledge of Motorola Connect plus Trunking 800MHz, 8 channel system or equivalent, Motorola MTR 3000 800MHz, ATI sired systems, radio SCADA systems and amplifiers preferred.The successful candidate will enter the classification at the level commensurate with their experience as a Communications Technician:* Candidates without Communications Technician experience will become an CT 1;* CT 2 requires 1 year and 1 class towards an Associate’s degree

in electronics or equivalent;* CT 3 requires 2 years and 24 credits towards an

Associate’s degree in electronics or

equivalent;* CT 4 requires 3 years and Associates degree in electronics

or equivalent;* CT 5 requires 4 years and Associates degree in electronics

or equivalent.**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**Must be able to sit, stand, hear and listen. Occasional walking, standing, stooping, and bending.
