CNC Horizontal Mill Machinist - 2nd Shift
We are seeking a skilled CNC Horizontal Mill Machinist who will be responsible for manufacturing firefighting equipment, including handline nozzles, apparatus valves, industrial valves, adapters, caps, and plugs. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC Horizontal Mill machining centers. Perform setups and change outs for 40% of the shift. Monitor machine runs, perform inspections on completed parts, and clean/organize work areas for 60% of the shift. Complete 1 to 3 setups per shift with run sizes ranging from 20 to 200 parts. Operate Toyoda and Okuma Horizontal Milling Centers, running two machines simultaneously. Read and interpret component prints or drawings. Use micrometers and calipers to ensure parts meet specifications. Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, and fixtures on machines. Perform touch editing of CNC mill machinery. Maintain tolerance of +/-.002. Essential Skills 3+ years of experience in setup, change outs, offsets, and operation of CNC Milling machinery. Proficient use of precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Experience with tight tolerances up to +/-.005. Understanding of G & M codes for tooling changes and offset adjustments. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elkhart, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.04 - $29.54/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
