REQ1507**HammondCare Waratah is currently looking for a Permanent Senior Cook/Chef to join our team.**HammondCare has a unique model of care which places the resident’s needs as our number one priority.As a part of the Support Service’s Team, you will support our model of care by delivering high quality meals within the **MAIN KITCHEN** at our Waratah Facility catering for our 232 residents in accordance with the organisational mission and mission in action statement.**Core Responsibilities:**Reporting to the Support Services Manager you will be responsible for;Leading, mentoring, and supervising a team of five staff within the main kitchen. This includes overseeing staff performance to ensure efficient operations.Assisting with our seasonal four week cycle cook fresh menu, prepare nourishing, appetising, and culturally appropriate meals that meet individual dietary needs and preferences. This includes ensuring meals are visually appealing and served at the correct portion size and temperature.Overseeing and ensuring strict adherence to the Food Safety Program (FSP), HACCP standards, and all relevant health and safety regulations. This also involves complying with the Aged Care Quality Standards, specifically Standard 6: Food and nutrition.Working closely with the Support Services Manager to implement and manage residents' specific dietary requirements, including texture-modified food for those with swallowing difficulties (dysphagia).Managing procurement, inventory control, and budgeting for the food services department.Driving initiatives to improve the overall dining experience, consistency of service, and resident satisfaction, assisting in responding to feedback and addressing concerns promptly.Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting related to food safety, resident dietary needs, and operational data.**To be successful in this role, you will:*** Be flexible and able to commit to a range of shifts including alternate weekends.* Value teamwork but also be able to work independently and show initiative.* Must have experience in cooking for large numbers in a commercial kitchen environment.* Have an understanding of ***The vulnerable persons guidelines*** for food safety or willingness to learn and incorporate these into your everyday work routine.* Demonstrated understanding of safe manual handling practices.* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.* Experience in preparing and cooking bulk meals.* Flexible working environment to deliver a healthy work/life balance.* Gain access to multiple health and fitness facilities at a low fee with Fitness Passport* Be supported & empowered in your role to really make a difference to our residents.* A workplace trainer on each site committed to your ongoing training & development.* Access to not-for-profit salary sacrificing arrangements.**Shift times.**0630-15000900-1730**About HammondCare:**HammondCare is an independent Christian charity that has been serving families in Australia since 1932.
