You will be guiding the creative process through the design season while working with a team of innovation designers, developers, product managers, to deliver exceptional product for the BRAND. This opportunity will require strong collaborative skills to meet cost requirements, deadlines, and compelling product, all while taking your partners though the thinking behind your work.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We're currently looking for a Lead Designer to lead and develop seasonal design concepts for apparel. Product Design at Nike is a diverse culture of creativity, collaboration and innovative thinking on all levels. This role requires strong passion and knowledge of apparel product creation and the ability to problem solve every step of the way, from concept to final design. This teammate embodies expert communication skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into focused design narratives as well as a passion and energy for sport culture, performance and design.

Bachelors degree in Apparel Design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training

5+ years of relevant work experience in the apparel sport industry

Demonstrated passion and understanding of trend and visual culture

Knowledge of product creation and graphic application for performance apparel

Expert communication and presentation skills using a variety of formats

Ability to seek out opportunities to elevate apparel though craft and construction

Proficient in Adobe CC and comfortable working within new digital spaces such as CLO and Vizcom

Passion for bridging innovation to a large range of cultural relevant apparel product

A collaborative mindset to work with other designers and teams while having the ability to work efficiently and autonomously when necessary.

WHAT YOULL WORK ON

If this is you, you'll be thinking about Nike today as well as Nike tomorrow. We will ask you to be seeking out opportunities to translate apparel culture of today through a Nike lens, as well as supporting the Design leadership team to bring long term vision and strategy to life. A typical day in the life could include designing a range of performance apparel product type including base layer to outerwear, mens and womens, mocking up samples, creating presentations/story telling, reviewing prototypes and revisions in preparation for a seasonal product launch.

Requirements Top must-have skills include the following:

Apparel construction; must have knowledge of how garments get put together

CLO experience

Adobe Illustrator

Ability to bring projects to life and show a concept effectively

Desired soft skills:

Very collaborative in nature

Ability to work autonomously

Combination of skills/expertise that would make a candidate stand out:

Experience designing technical, functional apparel (as opposed to streetwear/style)

Prior Nike experience (or experience with a similar brand)

Someone who is ready to start work ASAP and hit the ground running

Presentation & storytelling skills; professionalism

ETW will work on a direct team of ~10 others; will also do a lot of cross functional work with industrial designers, digital designers, etc.

Confidentiality will be key in this role, as the ETW will be working on new projects
