Territory Sales Representative

About the Role As a Territory Sales Representative, you will be the face of PepsiCo in your assigned geography, serving a breadth of customers from convenience stores and gas stations to supermarkets and mass merchants. You will develop and motivate a team of Merchandisers, collaborate with key account managers and other stakeholders, and drive revenue share, profit growth and key performance metrics through effective selling, promotions and account management.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary territory salesperson to all account types in your assigned geography.
Provide professional selling and drive revenue share and profit growth.
Manage all sales aspects in small format accounts—upselling, writing new orders, managing inventory, and providing support.
In large format accounts, lead collaboration with a pod of Merchandisers to drive incremental selling initiatives.
Develop and motivate Merchandisers on order submission, customer service excellence, display execution and inventory management.
Grow and develop customers in assigned territory.
Monitor and administer contract compliance (Customer Development Agreement) in small format accounts.
Communicate incremental displays and product needs to Merchandisers.
Provide superior customer service and cultivate strong relationships with customers.
Execute local and national marketplace initiatives and promotions.
Collaborate closely with Key Account Managers, Territory Sales Leads and Merchandisers to target incremental opportunities and drive key performance metrics (Revenue, Share, Waste, Profit).
Effectively sell small format annual Customer Development Agreements, holiday promotions and various initiatives with key customers.
Ensure product availability, rotation and proper pricing.
Maintain a flexible schedule including early mornings (e.g., 4 AM), evenings and weekends.
Periodically lift up to 40 lbs while performing work activities.
Minimum Requirements
18 years or older
Valid U.S. driver’s license and proof of insurance with a car to access multi-store locations
Indefinite right to work in the United States
Helpful Experience
Experience in sales/selling (e.g., new products, promotions, new points of distribution, pricing)
Experience in account management (meeting targets, execution and service, identifying account opportunities, growing existing accounts)
Experience with business-to-business selling (building relationships, handling customer complaints)
Experience with incremental selling (upselling, suggestion selling)
Experience selling beverages and/or consumer products
Experience with financial targets (volume, sales, revenue, product breakage)
Experience with profit margins and gross profit dollars
Experience with fact-based selling (using retail sales data, industry data, consumer research)
Experience with solutions selling (tailoring solutions to specific customer needs)
Experience upskilling or developing others (feedback, training, performance improvement)
Experience in customer service (resolving issues, communicating with store managers, follow-up)
Experience with merchandising (planograms, displays, stocking, back-room organization)
Experience managing inventory (current stock, projected sales, ordering, re-stocking)
Experience with in-store marketing (POP placement, creative displays)
Experience working under limited supervision
Experience following safety procedures (lifting techniques, safety processes)
Experience managing a route (prioritizing stops, scheduling, servicing accounts)
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with PepsiCo sales applications (SMARTr, Savvy, etc.)
Proficiency with P.E.P.S.I and Premier
