Description
Position Purpose
The Fleet Lead is accountable for the daily operations, maintenance, compliance, and performance of the Building Automation Division's vehicle fleet. This role ensures vehicles are safe, reliable, and cost‑effective, while fleet decisions and improvements are made in partnership with leadership rather than independently. The Fleet Program Lead coordinates repairs and preventive maintenance, administers fleet policies, maintains accurate vehicle and asset records, monitors fleet costs and utilization.
Pay Range:
$30 - $40 per hour, plus potential profit share.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the scheduling, execution, and completion of preventive maintenance and vehicle repairs.
Ensure all fleet vehicles meet safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date fleet records, including inspections, registrations, warranties, and service history.
Monitor fleet performance metrics, including fuel usage, mileage, and utilization.
Assist in the acquisition, leasing, and replacement of vehicles.
Track total cost of ownership and recommend vehicle retirement/replacement as needed.
Manage vehicle up‑fitting, branding, and deployment of new fleet assets.
Ensure compliance with DOT, state, and federal regulations.
Enforce company policies related to vehicle use, driver safety, and maintenance standards.
Coordinate driver safety training, incident reporting, and accident investigations.
Manage relationships with external vendors, including repair shops, fuel providers, leasing companies, and insurance partners.
Review and approve invoices related to fleet services, repairs, and fuel usage.
Monitor fleet budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Provide timely support and guidance to drivers, managers, and internal departments.
Track and analyze key metrics such as downtime, repair expenses, compliance status, and vehicle utilization.
Prepare reports for leadership with insights and recommendations.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
3–5+ years of experience in fleet management, facilities management, operations, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices, safety standards, and regulatory compliance (DOT, state, and local requirements).
Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and analyze fleet utilization, maintenance, and lifecycle data.
Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to maintain professionalism and a positive attitude under pressure.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for engaging with customers and internal teams.
