Position at Pilgrim's The Cooker Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating the cooker and associated rendering equipment to produce a high quality finished product that will meet all food safety plan and production requirements.
Responsibilities
Daily inspection of equipment to ensure safe operation, food safety and performance specifications.
Communicate any issues with safety, food safety plan or production limitations with the management team.
Monitor raw material bins, flow ways and all finished storage bins to ensure proper food safety and production efficiency.
Monitor all mechanical systems to report any safety, food safety plan or mechanical issues, and react accordingly.
Perform all necessary housekeeping duties in assigned areas.
Assist maintenance as needed.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Capable of communicating in both oral and written formats.
Understanding of the fundamental principles of manufacturing.
Possess effective communication skills.
Required to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
Often required to stand, sit and use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Close vision acuity capability required for this position.
Ability to cross-train personnel to replace position in the event of absence.
