Location: Newport News, Virginia 23602 Units: 244 Community Style: Garden Responsibilities

Facilitate maintenance and upkeep of the community: troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing heating and A/C units, water heaters, appliances, plumbing, electrical systems, asphalt, building interiors and exteriors, drainage systems, and remodeling carpentry. Ensure the maintenance remains organized and efficient: schedule service requests, prepare and schedule vacant turnovers, take inventory, order supplies, schedule contractors, establish and maintain a preventative maintenance program, and complete periodic inspections and capital improvements. Oversee the maintenance staff: hire, train, and supervise personnel. Assist office staff by interacting with residents, prospective residents, and vendors in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner. Qualifications

3 to 5 years of apartment maintenance experience Valid CFC with Type I and II or Universal certification required Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for on-call emergencies Ability to provide own basic tools Computer literacy skills High school diploma or equivalent Schedule Requirements
