Position Overview
Chenequa Country Club is seeking a motivated and detail oriented
Second Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
to join our leadership team. This role offers hands-on involvement in daily operations, staff leadership, and agronomic planning, while working on one of the region’s most well-regarded golf courses. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, comfortable leading by example, and interested in developing both technical and leadership skills. Key Responsibilities Assist in planning and executing daily golf course maintenance operations Supervise, train, and mentor crew members while fostering a positive, accountable team culture Assist with fertilizer and pesticide applications in compliance with regulations Monitor turf health, moisture management, and playing conditions Support irrigation scheduling, troubleshooting, and repairs Assist with daily course setup Maintain accurate records related to applications and surface metrics Participate in agronomic projects, cultural practices, and continuous course improvement efforts Assist with additional aspects of maintenance operations, including landscape maintenance and snow removal Qualifications Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management or related field preferred 2–4 years of golf course maintenance experience (intern or assistant level) Wisconsin pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain in a timely manner Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and communication skills Interest in long-term growth within the golf course management profession What Chenequa Country Club Offers Competitive salary, commensurate with experience ($43,000- $50,000) Health insurance and benefits package GCSAA and WGCSA membership support Continuing education and professional development opportunities A collaborative work environment with clear opportunities for advancement Golf course usage privileges How to Apply To apply, please submit your resume along with references and a brief cover letter.
