Save Job

Our client, a design‑led bath furniture and fixtures brand with a strong online presence, is hiring a

Shopify E-commerce Specialist

to take ownership of a newly launching direct‑to‑consumer Shopify site. With 90% of revenue already driven through online channels, the company is investing in bringing strategic ownership in‑house and scaling it as a core growth engine. The compensation model aligns with this responsibility, offering uncapped commission so that strong performance translates into higher personal earnings.

This is not an agency liaison or maintenance role. Reporting to the VP of Digital Sales, the E‑commerce Specialist will step in as the internal operator of a nearly completed Shopify build, partnering with leadership and external vendors to ensure a successful launch and long‑term evolution. The role offers meaningful ownership across merchandising, traffic, conversion, and on‑site performance. For someone motivated by impact and accountability, this is a chance to build and shape a channel that is central to future growth.

What You’ll Do

Take ownership of a nearly completed Shopify build, working closely with an external agency to validate functionality, UX, performance, and alignment with business goals.

Own the Shopify site day‑to‑day following launch, managing on‑site merchandising, promotions, product presentation, and content execution in partnership with internal product and content teams to ensure it operates as a commercial channel rather than a static storefront.

Develop and execute an initial e‑commerce and digital marketing plan focused on traffic growth, conversion improvement, and sales performance, with clear priorities, timelines, and budgets.

Use Shopify Analytics and Google Analytics to monitor and improve core site performance metrics, including conversion rate, average order value, revenue per session, product sell‑through, bounce rate, cart abandonment, and site speed.

Gradually reduce reliance on external agencies by bringing strategy, prioritization, and day‑to‑day ownership in‑house, using agencies as support rather than a crutch.

Coordinate with leadership to ensure DTC pricing, promotions, and merchandising do not conflict with marketplace channels (Home Depot, Lowe’s, Amazon, Ferguson, etc.).

Drive both national and local customer acquisition, including supporting geo‑targeted initiatives in key markets to complement showroom and local demand.

What You Bring

Direct experience operating & operating a Shopify site, beyond surface‑level updates or agency coordination.

An operator mindset, with comfort managing content, merchandising, promotions, conversion performance, and traffic strategy as an integrated whole.

Experience in considered‑purchase or higher‑ticket e‑commerce categories, where customers research, compare, and take time before buying (e.g., home improvement, furniture, mattresses, or similar)

Data‑driven judgment and comfort using Shopify & Google Analytics.

A proactive, self‑directed working style with the ability to build structure where processes are still evolving.

A naturally curious, forward‑leaning approach, with the ability to listen, connect dots, and bring ideas forward rather than waiting for detailed instruction.

Willingness to work on‑site in North Hollywood or Van Nuys, CA, with a hybrid schedule.

Our client offers an hourly rate of $35–$55, plus uncapped commission based on site performance and sales growth, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and paid holidays.
