Job Summary The role involves assisting the Appy/Deli Manager with daily operations in the Appy/Deli Department, ensuring a neat, clean, and visually appealing environment, and executing tasks efficiently and safely in accordance with company policies.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, analyzing, interpreting, and understanding English.

Basic math skills.

Ability to operate department-specific equipment (e.g., slicer, scale, wrapping machine, rotisserie, etc.).

Physical ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and regularly lift 25 lbs., occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.

Capacity to work in varying temperatures and handle fresh, dried, or processed products without allergic reactions.

Tolerance to dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping.

Ability to stand or walk for the entire scheduled shift.

Friendly and helpful customer interaction.

Cooperative teamwork capability.

Adherence to work schedules and attendance policies.

Essential Job Functions

Using slicing machines and related equipment.

Replenishing and preparing Appy/Deli products for sale.

Following procedures for receiving, coding, storing, price marking, and restocking to ensure quality and accuracy.

Managing damaged and spoiled products per company policy.

Informing managers of low inventory or spoilage.

Keeping displays stocked and organized.

Regularly checking and reporting on refrigeration equipment.

Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Unloading trucks and transporting merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.

Lifting, pulling, pushing, and rotating merchandise up to 50 lbs.

Understanding and adhering to company shrink guidelines.

Operating equipment safely and reporting any issues.

Cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces, utensils, and equipment per sanitation and QA standards.

Keeping floors clear of debris and spills.

Checking received products against invoices and ordering products as needed.

Removing trash and cardboard, operating balers.

Completing price changes and displaying products attractively.

Checking prices and knowing item locations in the store.

Promoting charitable promotions to customers.

Standing for shifts that may exceed 8 hours.

Differentiating between merchandise types, understanding taste, preparation, and price differences.

Monitoring cleaning supplies and informing the manager of low inventory.

Performing all duties in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Performing other duties as assigned.

Following Company Policies, Safety Requirements, And Security Standards

Dressing according to company policy, including wearing uniforms and hair restraints.

Adhering to QA hand-washing standards and using disposable gloves.

Following the HAZCOM program for chemical use.

Completing department training programs.

Performing duties in line with ShopRite Service Priorities (Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, and Efficiency).

Maintaining punctual and regular attendance and working overtime as assigned.

Working cooperatively with others.

Being 18 or older to operate certain machinery.
