Junior Excavation Estimator

We are seeking a motivated Junior Excavation Estimator to support our estimating team in preparing accurate bids for excavation, grading, and sitework projects. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone eager to learn the industry with strong mentorship from senior estimators.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in performing quantity takeoffs for earthwork (cut/fill), excavation, grading, hauling, and related sitework from civil plans and specifications
Gather quotes from subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment vendors
Help compile cost estimates including labor, equipment, materials, and production rates
Research historical project data to support future estimates
Participate in bid preparation, scope reviews, and pre-bid site walks
Maintain organized bid files and documentation
Learn and grow into full estimating responsibilities over time
Qualifications
0–2+ years of experience in construction estimating, sitework, or related field (internships/co-ops count!)
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
Strong attention to detail and solid math skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required); experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, AGTEK, or similar takeoff software is a big plus
Ability to read and understand basic civil/site plans and specifications
Valid driver’s license and willingness to visit job sites
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and desire to learn the excavation/sitework industry
