Description As a

Shipping & Receiving Specialist at Impulse , you will play a critical role in keeping hardware moving and teams unblocked. This role owns the flow of materials into and out of the company—receiving parts, managing inventory accuracy, coordinating shipments, and executing day‑to‑day purchasing activities to support engineering and production.

Responsibilities

Receive, inspect, and log incoming materials against purchase orders and packing slips

Package and ship hardware, tooling, and materials (domestic and international)

Maintain accurate inventory records, locations, and cycle counts

Issue and manage purchase orders for production, engineering, and facilities needs

Coordinate with suppliers on lead times, delivery issues, and order status

Work closely with engineering, production, and finance to prioritize material needs

Ensure compliance with export controls (ITAR/EAR), shipping regulations, and company procedures

Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient stockroom and shipping area

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; additional education or certifications a plus

2+ years of experience in shipping/receiving, inventory control, purchasing, or supply chain roles

Experience with ERP, MRP, or inventory management systems

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a startup environment

Comfortable lifting up to 40 lbs and working hands‑on in a warehouse/shop setting

Able to operate forklift to unload freight / palletized deliveries

Preferred Skills and Experience

Aerospace, manufacturing, or hardware startup experience

Familiarity with ITAR-controlled materials and documentation

Experience with international shipping and freight coordination

Basic understanding of procurement, vendor management, and cost tracking

Additional Information Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on job‑related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full‑time hires, you may also be eligible for long‑term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
