Axis Capital is a rapidly growing real estate investment firm based in Iowa and South Dakota, currently managing over 1,300 multi‑family units with $130M in assets under management. Our mission is to provide high‑quality housing opportunities while building long‑term value for our investors. Position Summary The role of Investor Relations will play a key part in Axis Capital’s fundraising, investor relations, and capital strategy efforts. This position focuses on identifying new equity sources, cultivating investor relationships, and supporting the structuring of capital for multi‑family acquisitions and developments across the Midwest.
Key Responsibilities
Investor Relations & Fundraising
Build and maintain strong relationships with accredited investors, family offices, institutional partners, and local equity networks.
Present investment opportunities, fund offerings, and Axis Capital’s growth strategy to potential investors.
Support the creation of offering memorandums, pitch decks, and investor communication materials.
Capital Strategy
Assist in structuring equity stacks, including preferred returns, waterfalls, and syndication models.
Provide input on deal underwriting, financial modeling, and sensitivity analysis to ensure competitive returns.
Support negotiations with lenders, equity partners, and municipalities on financing structures (TIFs, tax abatements, revolving loan funds, etc.).
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure capital raises and investor communications comply with SEC regulations and company policies.
Assist with investor reporting, quarterly updates, and annual financial summaries.
Track commitments and follow through on capital deployment timelines.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Real Estate, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
3+ years of experience in capital raising, investor relations, commercial banking, private equity, or real estate syndications.
Strong understanding of real estate financial models, equity waterfalls, and partnership structures.
Proven ability to build relationships and secure commitments from high‑net‑worth individuals and institutional partners.
Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and motivated by growth targets.
