Your Key Responsibilities Handling tax in such a large, sophisticated organization takes more than just a technical understanding of current tax practices. As a Property Tax Staff, we’ll look to you to apply your knowledge to a wide range of tax areas and processes, devising strategic outcomes to some very complex issues. As a Staff in our Property Tax Practice, you’ll spend much of your time supporting client engagements by participating in day‑to‑day interactions with clients, providing a quality work product and driving delivery of services to meet deadlines. You’ll continuously build on your technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and legislation that impact our clients. As a Staff on our team, you will:

Demonstrate an understanding of complex commercial real and personal property tax concepts and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations

Develop and deliver quality tax planning approaches with timely and responsive services and work products that exceed client expectations

Identify and offer opportunities for tax planning and other special services

Prepare quality, practical approaches to the client's tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions

Skills and attributes for success To qualify for the role, you must have

A predicted undergraduate or graduate degree with a concentration in Finance, Economics, International Business, or a related field.

A strong academic record including, without limitation, course work that EY deems relevant to this position.

Excellent communication skills, proficiency in basic MS Office tools, and strong writing skills, with business fluency in the English language.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.

Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.

Ideally, you will have

Proficiency in a technology‑enabled environment.

Broad exposure to state and local taxation.

Interest or exposure to real estate and value issues.

Knowledge of how to leverage firm‑approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.

What we offer you

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. Base salary in all geographic locations in the US ranges from $75,000 to $94,000. Additional benefits include medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.

Join us in a team‑led and leader‑enabled hybrid model. We expect most people in external, client‑serving roles to work together in person 40–60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.

Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, mental, and emotional well‑being.
