Machinist Level III
This is a full-time position from 6:00 to 4:30. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, or as needed. Location: McCarran, NV. Salary: Will discuss with applicant. The use of safety glasses and hearing protection are required in specific areas of the facility. Minimum/Preferred Requirements: Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane. Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Job Responsibilities/Duties: Able to set-up fixturing, tooling, complete understanding of machine operation and programming of a minimum of one area of the following - CNC vertical/horizontal mills, multi-axis lathes, screw machines, CNC grinders. Understanding and operation of manual shop equipment such as lathes, mills, and grinders. Operation of machine probes and touch-offs for tool and fixture offsets. Manual setting of offsets using indicators and edge finders. At machine part inspection, floor quality signoff for machinist level I and II, blueprint reading and job traveler verification, documenting machining processes. Transfer jobs, programs, and set-ups between machines. Ability to participate with Engineering and Quality departments in their process/product improvement activities. Able to work overtime, set-up and proof operations with a low impact or impedance to production hours. Understanding tool and fixture applications. Operator training prior to production run, troubleshooting machine and tooling issues, process/program improvement of machine operations. Follows inspection plans. Fully understands use of inspection gages and measuring instruments to meet dimensional tolerance requirements. Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.
