Job Description The Relationship Banker I provides an exceptional customer experience both on the cash line and by phone, contributing to the financial wellness of our customers. The role requires creating meaningful personal connections, processing transactions, identifying customer needs, and resolving end‑to‑end inquiries. It offers a career‑starting opportunity for candidates with teller, limited banking, or retail sales experience, with upward mobility and development.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide an optimal customer experience on the cash line and handle transactional needs such as deposits, withdrawals, payments, and typical teller transactions.
Answer customer inquiries regarding products and services, fulfilling basic servicing requests (e.g., new/replacement cards, PIN reset, reordering checks). Resolve basic problems.
Develop relationships with customers, staying well‑informed about their relationship with the bank.
Educate customers on consumer products and digital solutions (mobile, online, ATM).
Assist branch and team members with basic tasks to aid customer problem resolution.
Refer customers to internal experts for complex financial goals and needs.
Follow all bank processes, procedures, laws, and regulations; complete duties delegated by the Branch Manager, and ensure sound banking practices, including risk identification and reporting.
Achieve branch targets by identifying customer needs and providing guidance on Regions solutions.
Conduct outbound phone calls using lead lists to educate customers on technology and meet their financial needs.
This position requires overtime eligibility for hours worked over 40 per week (Fair Labor Standards Act) and is incentive eligible.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to work Saturdays as needed.
Ability to handle cash and process cash transactions.
Ability to communicate in person, on the phone, and through electronic channels.
Ability to use a computer frequently, including typing and sustained monitor attention.
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
Preferences
One (1) year of banking cash‑handling and/or customer service experience.
Skills and Competencies
Adherence to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Assistance with digital banking offerings.
Handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
Oversight of large sums of cash.
Strong customer focus and relationship‑building skills.
