Key details about the role and the candidate We’re hiring for the role of Technical Trainer for our rig equipment business, Bentec. The role is based in Bad Bentheim, Germany, but with regular travel to customer sites and overseas locations.
With responsibility for the development and delivery of training courses for multiple stakeholders including customers and employees. This will include creation of training documents and other online tools as required.
You and the role The role is fundamental to helping us deliver our customer-centric solutions. We are taking leaps in rig building and developing automated and smart technologies to support efficiencies in our customer’s operations. You would be responsible for the training delivery across Bentec/Kenera as we develop our rig and equipment business.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established Technical Trainer who is able to develop and deliver first-class training materials and training. You'll be a strong communicator, self-starter, organised and able to multitask and work on your own initiative, often to tight deadlines.
This is a full-time role based on our offices in Bad Bentheim, Germany, however hybrid/flexible working can be considered for the right candidate.
Primary responsibilities
Independent implementation of training courses for employees and external customers at our location in Bad Bentheim, Germany, at the customer’s premises or online
Independent conception and revision of training documents
Use and expansion of modern learning methods
Further development and continuous optimization of our HTML-based training tool
Collaboration in the development of new practice-oriented training materials
Experience
Experience in a training role with an oilfield operator, drilling contractor or service company
Several years of professional experience in the drilling industry (post‑qualifying)
Understanding of the Oil & Gas sector and market forces
Behaviour and Skills
Demonstrates an organised and proactive approach
Fluent in spoken and written English (other languages such as German and Arabic are desirable but not essential)
Ability to work in a team and individually
Strong communication and presentation skills
An assertive and self‑confident person able to communicate at all levels
Attention to detail with the ability to work to deadlines
Strong competency in MS Office products
Ability to research and embrace new technologies and training methods
Strong safety and wellbeing awareness
Proven experience in a similar role
Bachelor or master’s degree in a technical subject
