Overview Prospect Bay is a premier private country club located on Maryland's scenic Eastern Shore, just over the Chesapeake Bay bridge. Prospect Bay Country Club boasts an 18-hole championship golf course that regularly hosts Maryland state and Mid-Atlantic section events, as well as full country club amenities that include a vibrant racquets program, swimming facilities, excellent fine dining, and a fantastic grill room. The golf course is set to under-go a full renovation starting in the spring of 2026 with a planned completion date of 2028. Prospect Bay has a very active player development program with an emphasis on junior golf growth and development.

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic First Assistant Golf Professional to join our team. Our golf operation is among the busiest in the region, hosting a full calendar of member events and active instructional programs. This position is ideal for a golf professional who thrives in a customer service first environment and is committed to advancing both the golf program at Prospect Bay as well as their career.

Experience Required

2+ years experience as an assistant golf professional preferred.

Exceptional customer service skills.

Strong ability to communicate effectively.

Team oriented individual who works well with others in completing tasks.

Knowledgeable in the areas tournament operations and Golf Genius tournament software.

Skilled in basic golf instruction to players of all abilities preferred.

Class A PGA member or an apprentice in good standing.

Essential Responsibilities

Assist the Head Golf Professional in managing the daily golf operation.

Manage and coordinate daily play; ensure both members and guests are checked in and that all players are adhering to club policies and procedures.

Help manage golf shop retail operations to include inventory management, merchandising, and sales of product.

Interface and communicate with other departments daily to go over golf happenings and ensure events run smoothly and exceed member expectations.

Assist in scheduling and managing members of the outside operations golf staff as well as the golf car fleet.

Manage, schedule, and implement junior golf programs that add to the member experience and grow junior golf activity at the club.

Play golf with members of all skill levels.

Perform club fittings and basic club repair.

Always reflect a positive attitude as well as a neat and presentable appearance.

Accomplish any and all other duties as assigned by the Head Golf Professional or the General Manager.
