Your primary role is to
coordinate, supervise, and support nursing services
to ensure high-quality, regulatory-compliant care is provided to residents. This includes:
Overseeing and improving clinical care delivery,
Ensuring staff are properly trained and supported,
Managing risks and incidents to protect residents, staff, and the facility, and
Maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
In the absence of the Director of Nursing, you are responsible for implementing and maintaining the facility’s resident care policies and procedures.
Key Areas of Responsibility 1. Nursing Administration & Oversight
Assist in daily management of nursing operations.
Develop, maintain, and update nursing policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with current healthcare laws and standards.
Monitor staff compliance with clinical protocols and procedures.
2. Staff Development
Coordinate new staff orientation and ongoing in-service training.
Ensure all staff complete required competencies and evaluations annually.
Train staff on EMR systems and assign e-learning courses.
Investigate and document all incidents and accidents involving residents, staff, or visitors.
Track and trend incident data to identify patterns and implement preventative strategies.
Maintain logs and documentation for internal review and external audits (e.g., APS, OSHA, AHCA).
4. Quality Assurance
Participate in QA initiatives and facility inspections.
Maintain survey readiness tools and ensure logs are current.
Conduct audits and chart reviews to monitor care and documentation quality.
5. EMR Administration
Manage access, roles, and training in the EMR system.
Monitor user activity and assist with login/reset issues.
