Get to Know Your Team:
Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128‑bed, full‑service, acute‑care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state‑of‑the‑art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.
Responsibilities
The director of pharmacy plans, organizes, controls, and supervises activities in hospital pharmacy according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and State and Federal laws.
Recommends innovations in the practice and function of the hospital pharmacy to the Administration and carries out mutually agreed upon programs and corporate initiatives.
In addition, the director of pharmacy should provide support, mentoring, and oversight of the activities of the clinical pharmacists and supportive personnel on staff.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE‑accredited School of Pharmacy.
3+ year’s hospital pharmacy experience with 2+ year’s supervisory or leadership experience.
Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy.
Other applicable state requirements – i.e., sterile compounding, etc.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Knowledgeable and proficient in the legal responsibilities of the pharmacist to the facility and all state and federal laws and regulations governing pharmacy services.
Experience working in Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Record Systems.
Preferred Job Requirements
Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE‑accredited college of pharmacy.
5+ year’s hospital pharmacy experience.
ALS/ACLS certification. (Required if attending Code Blue).
Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
