Hospice Director of Patient Care Services (DPCS) - Job Overview The Hospice DPCS is responsible for the overall direction of hospice clinical services. This role involves establishing, implementing, and evaluating goals and objectives that meet quality standards and support the organization’s philosophy.

Essential Job Functions

Available on premises or accessible by telecommunications during operating hours.

Coordinate and oversee all patient services provided by clinical personnel.

Guide and counsel coordinators and Clinical Supervisors to improve hospice care services.

Assist Clinical Supervisors in managing clinical teams and planning.

Support assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient and family/caregiver care.

Assist in budget preparation and administration.

Interpret operational indicators to adjust staffing, revenue, or expenses accordingly.

Evaluate Clinical Supervisors’ performance and develop their skills.

Conduct evaluations of clinicians and oversee maintenance of clinical records and reports, ensuring compliance with laws.

Manage inventory supplies and equipment.

Develop and implement orientation and ongoing education programs for staff.

Participate in performance improvement initiatives and ensure quality and safety of hospice services.

Contribute to organizational goal development and policy formulation.

Ensure compliance with licensure, certification, and standards such as CHAP.

Qualifications

Current RN licensure in the State.

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Master’s preferred.

Minimum of three years management experience in hospice or related healthcare, with supervisory experience.

Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.

Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle.

Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards.
