BBE International is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Customs Coordinator to join the team in being a leading provider of logistics and customs brokerage services, to help clients navigate complex cross-border regulations and to streamline their supply chain operations. The customs broker is responsible for accurate, timely and compliant clearance of international shipments through Canada Customs. This role works closely with freight forwarding clients and regulatory agencies to ensure all import documentation, tariff classifications, and duties/taxes are properly managed in accordance with CBSA and other government agency requirements.
While Alberta is the preferred location, BBE is open to qualified candidates across Canada. The ideal candidate brings strong technical brokerage expertise, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced international logistics environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and process custom declarations.
Ensure timely release of shipments and assist in minimizing delays and penalties.
Classify goods according to the Harmonized System (HS) code.
Communicate with clients regarding shipment status and missing information on shipping documents.
Communicate with CBSA and other government agencies to resolve issues and ensure compliance.
Maintain current knowledge of customs regulations and industry practices.
Assist in audits and maintain accurate records for all customs transactions.
Ensure timely billing of customs files.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
CORPORATE COMPLIANCE DUTIES
Actively participate in QHSETR programs and systems.
Contribute to and foster transparent, direct communication, education, and customer service enhancement with the operations team and clients.
Ensure that file details and supporting documentation facilitate efficient handovers to Operations and Accounting.
Contribute to BBE’s continuous improvement and organizational efficiency goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
CCS (preferred or in progress).
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in customs brokerage, with 2 years of experience in customs ratings.
Strong knowledge of CBSA regulations and import/export compliance.
Proficiency with customs software and Microsoft Office. Experience with Candata is an asset.
Excellent team player, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, team-oriented environment.
