Job Summary As Human Resources Business Partner, North America Sales, you will partner with the NA Sales leadership team to collaborate with the wider HR community to define and execute talent strategies in alignment with business objectives.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with robust sales expertise, business savvy, and a compelling influencer, consultant, coach, and trusted advisor. High emotional intelligence is essential– you'll need to read between the lines, navigate sensitive situations with empathy, and build genuine connections across diverse personalities and leadership styles.

This role requires resourcefulness– you'll be expected to find creative solutions, think on your feet, and identify innovative approaches to complex people challenges. Comfort with ambiguity is a must; you'll thrive in situations where the path forward isn't always clear and priorities can shift rapidly.

You'll excel in our fast-paced, dynamic environment where agility, quick decision-making, and the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities are critical to success.

This is a hybrid role based out of San Jose, CA; Raleigh, NC; or Vienna, VA

Job Requirements

Develop a deep understanding of business operations, objectives, and needs of the business to help develop/implement HR plans that deliver value. Demonstrate resourcefulness in gathering insights and connecting dots across the organization

Serve as an advisor and coach to members of the NA Sales leadership team, leveraging emotional intelligence to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics, build trust, and influence outcomes. Participate in leadership meetings and contribute as a business leader

Champion and coach leaders on creating a high achievement culture. Drive the adoption and sustainment of key talent programs, coach leaders on performance and talent strategies, and ensure the voice of the business is reflected in the design and evolution of HR initiatives. Partner often and openly with CoEs to ensure programs are relevant, impactful, and sustainable in the field.

Adapt quickly to changing business needs and pivot strategies as required in our fast-moving environment

Use emotional awareness to understand unspoken concerns, read the room, and influence for the good of the company

Coach, counsel and act as trusted advisor to your client group, demonstrating empathy, active listening, and alignment to NetApp’s goals to support leaders through challenging situations. Be resourceful in finding the right approach for each unique leader and situation

Interpret HR analytics and share these insights with senior leaders to enhance their understanding of people issues. Be resourceful in finding and leveraging data to tell compelling stories that drive action in a fast-paced decision-making environment

Support the establishment of a high-achievement culture, overseeing initiatives to help enhance sales attainment, employee productivity, engagement, and ultimately business results. Demonstrate resourcefulness in designing programs that maximize impact with available resources

Required Qualifications

8+ years of HRBP experience including demonstrated examples of driving results through HR business partnership

Proven emotional intelligence with examples of successfully navigating sensitive situations, building trust across diverse stakeholders, and coaching leaders through complex people challenges. Ability to sense what's working and what's not in real-time and adjust approach accordingly

Demonstrated resourcefulness– ability to achieve results with limited resources, find creative solutions, and make things happen against the odds. Track record of adapting corporate programs to work effectively in the field

Comfort operating in ambiguity– track record of making sound decisions with incomplete information and adapting strategies as situations evolve. Experience bridging the gap between strategic intent and practical execution

Thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments– energized (not overwhelmed) by rapid change, tight deadlines, and competing priorities. Able to maintain momentum on long‑term culture initiatives while responding to immediate business needs

Experience coaching leaders on performance management and talent development, with demonstrated ability to influence behavioral change and drive accountability

Preferred Qualifications

Technology industry experience, particularly in sales organizations

Has driven or be part of a team that has implemented complex business transformation, particularly in ambiguous or rapidly changing conditions

Proven track record of building high‑achievement cultures with measurable business impact

Strong executional mindset with attention to detail, while maintaining strategic perspective

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels, reading emotional cues and adapting style accordingly

Understands business management processes at a high level, is analytical and data‑driven, with a high level of business acumen

Demonstrated agility and resilience in dynamic business environments

Experience creating effective feedback mechanisms between field operations and corporate functions, ensuring programs remain relevant and impactful

Compensation: The target salary range for this position is 132,600 - 196,900 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off, various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
