About the Role
Customer Service Representative (Remote)
– 100% Remote, must be in EST. This 6‑month contract is for the busiest season of a high‑volume residential services team. Ideal candidates excel fast‑paced work, have strong communication skills, and handle challenging interactions with professionalism and empathy.
Key Responsibilities
Handle a high volume of inbound calls (average call time: 2.5 minutes)
Assist customers with service inquiries, billing questions, and transaction processing
Take residential orders for propane and heating oil
Process over‑the‑phone payments accurately (basic math skills required)
De‑escalate upset customers and manage difficult conversations
Ensure adherence to productivity metrics: time in queue, call status, schedule compliance
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications
Previous customer service experience (call center preferred)
Ability to work in a high‑volume environment
Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
Basic math proficiency (accuracy is critical for safety)
Knowledge of Office 365 and basic office equipment
Ability to hardwire an internet connection via Ethernet (minimum speed: 100 Mbps upload / 20 Mbps download, tested at speedtest.net)
Work Environment
100% Remote – equipment provided: laptop, monitors, headset, docking station, credit card keypad
Must demonstrate professionalism and accountability while working from home
Productivity monitored by a dedicated team
